All you need to do is complete 5 steps

No feeling is quite the same as the thrill you get from straddling a motorcycle! And yet, countless people give it but a fleeting thought, convinced that obtaining the necessary license is complicated. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Your Tecnic driving school will walk you through every step of the process, which lasts around one year.

Are you ready to fire up your engines? Here’s what to do:

  1. First, bone up on everything motorcycle-related to prepare yourself for the SAAQ knowledge test you’ll need to pass. With the current public health measures, online learning , one of the many exclusive products available to Tecnic clients, is an interesting alternative to traditional classroom courses.
  2. Make an appointment to take the SAAQ knowledge test . Once you’ve successfully passed the test, you’ll receive a 6R licence, which lets you drive a motorcycle during your driving courses (only).
  3. Make an appointment to take the SAAQ knowledge test. Once you’ve successfully passed the test, you’ll receive a 6R licence, which lets you drive a motorcycle during your driving courses (only).
You’ll begin by learning and practicing on a closed circuit track, in a phase that includes 3 hours of theory and 16 hours of practice. Then it’ll be time to hit the road; this phase includes 3 hours of theory and 10 hours of practice.During this training, you’ll learn to handle a motorcycle both at high speeds as well as when driving slowly.
  4. One month or more after having completed all of your courses, you can pass the SAAQ’s closed circuit track exam .
  5. Once this is completed, you’ll be the proud holder of a 6A learner’s licence, which lets you ride a motorcycle alone but doesn’t allow you to have passengers just yet. This licence is valid for 18 months, after which you can take the SAAQ road test (the last step, after having had your learner’s licence for at least 11 months).

Most of our clients take all of their courses during a same summer, leaving them with only the SAAQ road test to complete the following year, after the 11-month period.
